ABOUt us

PAWS CARE, Inc. located in Montgomery County is a not-for-profit volunteer animal welfare group, registered and inspected by the State of Illinois. We are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charity. No federal, state or local monies are given to Paws Care. We function solely on fundraisers and donations.

Our goal is to rescue, re-home and provide better lives for companion animals in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff.

We are more of a "boutique rescue" as we do not have a shelter and only use private foster homes. For this reason, we do not have viewing hours. An application must be approved before meeting each animal.

NOTE: We DO NOT accept stray animals. This is the job of government funded animal control agencies.

We help owners who can no longer care for their pets. If you need help with your animal, please see our owner relinquish form by clicking here. We DO NOT take stray animals. This is the job of the local animal control facility.

PAWS CARE is supported solely by fundraisers and donations. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Administered by a Board of Directors, the group is operated by a small but very dedicated group of volunteers. Members live in all areas of central Illinois and come from all walks of life, but they all have one thing in common: compassion for companion animals.

Hundreds of pets have been saved since the group's inception!  Many animals have been transported to no-kill shelters in the Midwest and others have been adopted.  See our successes by clicking here.
